Kat, Academic Tutor

Kat is a qualified teacher and taught in primary education for 25 years in five different schools. She specialises in Early Years and Key Stage 1 (4-7 year olds) and was the headteacher of a large infant school for 10 years.

She is experienced and passionate about teaching children who have SEND, who are neurodivergent, or who experience anxiety. She loves working with children in ways that really motivate them, always striving to provide experiences that allow children to learn through doing. Kat also works with parents helping them to use connection and regulation to support their children with managing their big emotions and to reduce challenging behaviours over time.

Kat currently also works to support adopters whose children have experienced trauma, Developmental Trauma, or who have attachment needs.

Kat has two young children herself who keep her busy. Her hobbies include riding her ex-racehorse on The Downs, exercising, seeing friends, enjoying good food and watching a quality film!
