Music tuition in schools across East and West Sussex
Discover & Be provide high calibre music teachers for schools across East Sussex and West Sussex. All of our music tutors are degree qualified, have many years experience of teaching both on a 1-to-1 basis and in groups, and are professional musicians. Many also currently teach in schools across Sussex.
We ensure that each tutor has been vetted, had their qualifications verified and their references checked, including their DBS. They have also been personally interviewed by Rhiannon Harman, our music co-ordinator and co-founder of Discover & Be.
We have also assessed each tutor's teaching style by observing lessons with existing pupils. We know from experience that impressive qualifications alone do not necessarily make for a good teacher. We place huge importance on the ability of our tutors to engage, encourage and inspire whoever they are teaching, whether on an individual basis or in a group lesson. Each of our tutors and their background are featured on the Our Team page.
Instrument tuition available
Currently we are able to offer lessons in piano, keyboard, DJ skills, guitar, ukulele, drums, flute, saxophone and recorder. However, we are always expanding our team of tutors so if you have a specific need, chances are we can help.
Other music tuition services
As well as our instrumental tuition we can provide teachers for singing / vocal coaching, songwriting, composition and improvisation, as well as basic music theory. We also now offer DJ skills lessons in selected schools.
Where do we teach?
We are able to offer music lessons for children aged from 5 to 18* across East Sussex and West Sussex including Brighton, Haywards Heath, Lewes, Horsham and more.
How can we help?
We would love to meet with you to talk about how we work and how we can make music tuition fun, engaging and worthwhile for your pupils. We are more than happy to visit you at school or, if you prefer, have a chat on the telephone. Call Rhiannon on 07472 521161.
*The start age depends on the instrument. We would recommend that those learning the guitar or flute start at 7 years old, for example. Piano and ukulele can be for 5 years old upwards.
