We are offering a fantastic opportunity for teaching assistants to tutor with Discover & Be.

We are confident that there are many excellent teaching assistants in our local area who are capable of offering pupils up to year 8 valuable help and support. We pride ourselves on our rigorous interview process that ensures our clients and pupils receive the best possible service.

Due to high demand for academic tuition, and in the knowledge that the Discover & Be co-founders have worked with some highly skilled and inspiring teaching assistants in our time as class teachers, we know that offering an alternative will undoubtedly provide help, support and guidance to many children, while making private 1 to 1 tuition more accessible for many Sussex families.

What do you need to tutor with us?

In order to tutor with us, it is important that you have the following:

  • Experience working in a school or education setting

  • Secure knowledge of the subject area you would like to teach and support in

  • Teaching Assistant qualifications (or equivalent)

  • A passion for and the necessary qualifications in your chosen subject or area

  • Ideas for making teaching and learning fun, creative and relevant to a pupil’s age and ability

  • The necessary skills to develop a positive, friendly and supportive rapport with children of all ages and abilities

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to self-evaluate

  • The ability to manage your time effectively and efficiently
