Learn Spanish or French during lockdown and beyond!

If, like many others, you’re taking the change in normality to think about learning something new, why not improve your language skills? Once restrictions are removed and it’s safe to explore the world once more, be ready with the necessary skills to immerse yourself in local culture and communities.

French and Spanish are two popular languages principally due to being fantastic holiday destinations. And rightfully so! Both countries are beautiful and culturally rich.

However, they’re not the only places where their respective languages are spoken.

French is also spoken in other European countries: Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg. If you travel to parts of Canada, French is widely spoken. Incredibly there are 26 countries in Africa that have French as their principle language, as well as a handful of countries throughout Central and South America and Australasia. French truly is a global language.

And what about Spanish? Outside of Spain itself, Andorra is another European Spanish-speaking nation. Further afield South and Central America have no less than 20 countries where Spanish is the official language. Add in to that all the Spanish speakers in the United States and you’ll be able to converse with hundreds of millions of people.

Discover & Be has two language teachers who can help you learn French or Spanish. Issy is a native Spanish speaker, having been born in Barcelona and growing up in Mallorca. As with all our tutoring team, Michele and Issy are comfortable teaching online, as well as face-to-face. Currently we’re offering flexible arrangements for online tuition, so you can book a regular weekly session or a block of 10 lessons that you can take as you wish (dependent on the tutor’s availability).
